THE JIVE BOMBERS
The Jive Bombers are airborne once again. This is a ten piece swing and jump blues outfit featuring two of the best vocalists in the country. On the distaff side is Terra Hazelton, formerly the featured singer with Jeff Healey's Jazz Wizzards.
Our male vocalist, Chuck Jackson, is also the lead singer and harmonica player with the Downchild Blues Band.
The front line includes Alex Dean, John Johnson and Bobby Brough on saxes and Brigham Phillips on trumpet. Gord Sheard plays fabulous stride and boogie woogie piano.
John"Pickles" Karpenko is the front man and valve trombonist. Not to be missed are his infamous vocal stylings on such gems as "I Want a Bow Legged Woman".
Finally, as co-leader with Karpenko, I round out the rhythm section on vibes and insults.
Our material includes music by Ray Charles, Louis Jordan,Bessie Smith,The Downchild Blues Band and many others.
Whether we play at the Rex, the Pilot, the Chicken Deli or at music festivals, it’s always a swinging Jazz and Blues Party.
